Summary

The team traveled to Brown University to compete at the first Coed Showcase event. Saturday started off with a shifty easterly wind which proved challenging for the fleet. The wind was puffy ranging between 5-13 knots. The unpredictable wind, strong current, and competitive fleet proved for tough, competitive racing. There were a total of 10 races completed in each fleet the first day. The regatta saw similar breeze on Sunday and completed the regatta for a total of 18 races. B Fleet’s crew Lily Allen described the weekend as “challenging yet great opportunity to learn and improve on tactics against some of the best college teams.” The team ended on a positive note with a top 5 finish in A Fleet. Michigan sailors learned a lot and are looking forward to the next regatta!
